At both tea-time and at the dining table, the contemporary lightness and minutely executed aestheticism of this collection set the stage for a high-class tasting experience.In counterpoint to the current trend for uneven ceramics in all their imperfect poetry, young designer Lucas Frank's overriding aim was to pay homage to the high technicality and precision of the material as it is used in this industry. At ECAL, the famous Lausanne art school where hewas trained, Frank absorbed the central preceptsof a rigorous creative grammar inherited from Swiss-German philosophy, which demands a highly concrete design approach centered on function.Jugs, sugar and other bowls, plates, teapots and bamboo trays were introduced alongside the original cups to create the ideal vessels for tea-times inspired as much bythe gourmet aesthetics of French tea-drinking as by the pure lines of Asian tradition.Made of black clay with a special black smooth finish it has a delightful touch and handling. The inside of the cups and teacup has a dark metal aged sliver effect. The tea cup and the saucer interlock perfectly which insures stability while serving your tea. This collection is strong and resistant and it will enhance your tea experience.
